DIY Pumpkin Fragrance Soap

DIY Pumpkin Fragrance Soap

This recipe is easy to follow and doesn't require working with lye, making it a great option for beginners.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Clear Glycerin soap base (available at craft stores or online)
  • 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • 1-2 teaspoons of Spiced Pumpkin fragrance oil (adjust to your preference)
  • Soap mold (silicone molds work well)
  • Microwave-safe glass measuring cup or bowl
  • Spoon for stirring

Instructions:

  1. Cut the Soap Base: Start by cutting the clear glycerin soap base into small cubes or chunks. This will help it melt more evenly.

  2. Melt the Soap Base: Place the soap base cubes into a microwave-safe glass measuring cup or bowl. Microwave the soap in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until it is completely melted. Be careful not to overheat it; you just want to melt it.

  3. Add Fragrance and Spice: Once the soap base is melted, stir in the pumpkin pie spice and spiced pumpkin fragrance oil. Adjust the fragrance oil amount to your desired strength. Mix well to evenly distribute the fragrance and spice.

  4. Pour into Mold: Pour the scented soap mixture into your soap mold. Tap the mold gently on the counter to remove any air bubbles.

  5. Cool and Set: Allow the soap to cool and harden at room temperature for a few hours or place it in the refrigerator for faster setting. It should become solid in about 1-2 hours.

  6. Remove from Mold: Once the soap has completely cooled and hardened, gently pop it out of the mold. If you're using silicone molds, this should be easy.

  7. Let It Cure (Optional): While not necessary for glycerin soap, you can allow the soap to sit out for a few days to allow any excess moisture to evaporate and the soap to harden further.

  8. Enjoy: Your pumpkin fragrance soap is now ready to use or give as a delightful handmade gift!

This soap is simple and quick to make, and it has a lovely pumpkin spice fragrance. It's a fun project for personal use or for gifting to friends and family. Remember to store your soap in an airtight container or wrap it in plastic wrap to keep it fresh until you're ready to use it.
