Shea Butter Glycerin Soap Base Detergent Free

Derived from a naturally occurring plant-based substance, shea butter moisturizes, soothes, and protects skin. It's also been shown to reduce inflammation. This product from Stephenson perfectly combines shea butter's many benefits into a single package. Add a touch of luxury to your soap line with this top-notch soap base.

Usage:

A two-pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the soap you're trying to make.

Directions:

• Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.

• Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.

• Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use.

Caution:

When making soaps it is good to remember that the Melt & Pour Bases contain water as part of the formula. So, if they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate, and the bar of soap will shrink. We would recommend fully wrapping the ENTIRE soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled--this should minimize/eliminate any shrinkage.
